January 17, 1971: Robert James Ritchie born in Romeo, Michigan.

1990: Kid Rock's debut album, "GRITS SANDWICHES FOR BREAKFAST," released.

1993: "THE POLYFUZE METHOD" released.

January 6, 1996: "EARLY MORNIN' STONED PIMP" released on Kid Rock's own Top Dog Records.

June 4, 1996: Walk On Water's "HIGH-FI" - engineered by Kid Rock - is released.

October 15, 1996: Thornetta Davis's "SUNDAY MORNING MUSIC" - featuring production and programming by Kid Rock - is released.

June 2, 1998: Howling Diablos' "IT'S MY PARTY" EP - featuring guest vocals from Kid Rock - is released.

August 18, 1998: "DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE" released, the first on Top Dog/Lava/Atlantic. The album - which includes the smash singles/videos "I Am The Bullgod," "Bawitdaba," "Cowboy," and "Only God Knows Why" - will go on to be Diamond Award certified by the RIAA for 10,000,000 sold.

February 23, 1999: Eminem's "THE SLIM SHADY LP" - featuring a guest appearance from Kid Rock - is released.

March 19, 1999: The "Destroy Your Liver '99" tour starts off with a sold-out homecoming gig at Detroit's famed State Theater.

March 30, 1999: "DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE" hits the #1 spot on Billboard's "Heatseekers" chart of new and developing artists.

April 23, 1999: Kid Rock wins three Detroit Music Awards, including "Outstanding National Album" (for "DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE"), "Outstanding National Single" (for "I Am The Bullgod"), and "Outstanding Hip Hop Writer/Producer."

June 4, 1999: Kid Rock makes his Tonight Show With Jay Leno debut, performing "Cowboy."

June 7, 1999: "DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE" makes its top ten debut, coming in at #9 (with a bullet) on the week's Billboard 200.

June 10, 1999: Kid Rock and TBT blow the roof off with their performance of "Bawitdaba" at the MTV Movie Awards.

June 12, 1999: Kid's five-week co-headlining tour with Limp Bizkit begins in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

June 20, 1999: Atlantic releases "MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY THE MOTION PICTURE - SOUTH PARK: BIGGER, LONGER & UNCUT," featuring "Kyle's Mom's A Big Fat Bitch," performed by Joe C. with Kid Rock. Other soundtracks to feature Kid Rock's music include those for the films Any Given Sunday, Ready To Rumble, Road Trip, and Dee Snider's Strangeland.

July 25, 1999: Kid Rock and Twisted Brown Trucker steal the show with their performance at Woodstock '99.

September 8, 1999: Kid Rock makes his debut appearance on CBS-TV's Late Show With David Letterman, rocking NYC's Ed Sullivan Theater with "Cowboy."

September 9, 1999: Kid Rock's performance blows the roof off the MTV Video Music Awards show at NYC's Metropolitan Opera House. The pyrotechnic appearance saw Rock and TBT joined onstage by Run DMC and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.

October 12, 1999: Run DMC's "CROWN ROYAL" - which includes "The School Of Old," produced, engineered, and featuring Kid Rock - is released.

October 20, 1999: Kid Rock and TBT kick off "Between The Legs" headlining tour with a sold-out show at Michigan's Kalamazoo Wings Stadium.

November 12, 1999: Kid Rock and his "Bawitdaba" companion clip score a trio of Billboard Music Video Awards, taking home trophies in three "Best New Artist" categories: Pop, Hard Rock, and Modern Rock.

December 31, 1999: Kid Rock closes out the 20th Century with Metallica at a sold-out New Year's Eve gig at the Pontiac Silverdome.

February 23, 2000: Kid Rock - nominated for "Best New Artist" and "Best Hard Rock Performance" (for "Bawitdaba") - makes an explosive live performance on the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards telecast.

March 21, 2000: Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise release "TIME TO DISCOVER," featuring guest vocals by Kid Rock on two tracks - "Higher" and "Tramp."

April 30, 2000: Kid Rock and Joe C. make animated guest appearance on The Simpsons.

May 20, 2000: Kid Rock and Twisted Brown Trucker premiere "American Bad Ass" with performance on Saturday Night Live. They also performed a version of "Only God Knows Why" especially arranged by country outlaw legend David Allan Coe, and featuring Phish's Trey Anastasio on guitar. The program also featured Kid Rock and Joe C. in a sketch, where they portrayed a pair of celebrity impersonators in the roles of Jerry Lee Lewis and his young bride Myra Gale Brown, respectively.

May 29, 2000: Kid Rock appears on WWF's Raw Is War, performing "American Bad Ass" live at Vancouver's GM Place.

May 30, 2000: "THE HISTORY OF ROCK" released. The album - which makes its chart debut at #2 on the SoundScan "Top Current Albums" ranking - is a specially assembled compilation comprised of previously unreleased recordings such as the first single, "American Bad Ass," as well as remixed and reworked tracks from Kid Rock's long-unavailable early works. The collection is currently certified 3x platinum by the RIAA for sales in excess of 3,000,000.

June 13, 2000: "DOUBLE WIDE," the Kid Rock-produced debut album by Twisted Brown Trucker's Uncle Kracker, is released. The album - which includes the hit "Follow Me" - is certified platinum by the RIAA for sales in excess of 1,000,000.

June 30, 2000: Kid Rock joins Metallica for their "Summer Sanitarium" stadium tour, starting off at Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

August 2, 2000: Kid Rock and Co. take to the highway on monthlong summer headlining tour, starting out in Evansville, Indiana.

November 17, 2000: Joe C. - born Joseph Calleja - passes away in his sleep at home in Taylor, Michigan. He had suffered since childhood with Celiac disease, an intestinal disorder. Joe C. was 26 years old.

January 8, 2001: Kid Rock receives "Favorite Male Pop/Rock" honors at the 28th Annual American Music Awards. In addition to his role as award winner, Rock hosted a special AMA "in memoriam" segment for members of the music community who had died in the past year. The duty was an especially poignant one for Kid Rock, mourning the death of TBT band member and cohort, Joe C.

January 9, 2001: Kid Rock receives "Best Hard Rock Performance" Grammy Award nomination for "American Bad Ass."

January 17, 2001: Kid Rock and TBT begin a sold-out winter headlining tour in Greenville, South Carolina.

January 21, 2001: Kid Rock donates proceeds from his Norfolk, Virginia concert to the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society, an effort undertaken to aid the families of those crew members killed in the terrorist attack on the USS Cole. The concert came about after it was brought to Kid Rock's attention that "American Bad Ass" was played over the loudspeakers of the crippled naval ship just as it pulled out of port to head home.

April 11, 2001: Columbia Pictures' Joe Dirt, starring David Spade, Christopher Walken, and Kid Rock, is released.

August 7, 2001: "MUSIC FROM THE MOTION PICTURE: OSMOSIS JONES" - which includes "Cool, Daddy Cool," performed by Kid Rock featuring Joe C. - is released.

August 10, 2001: Warner Bros. Pictures' Osmosis Jones - featuring the voices of Kid Rock and Joe C. - arrives in theaters.

November 20, 2001: "COCKY" released. Recorded in Detroit at Kid Rock's Clarkston Chophouse studio, the album includes such larger-than-life arena anthems as "Forever," "What I Learned Out On The Road," and "Lonely Road of Faith." The self-produced collection features backing from Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker band, along with special guest shots from Sheryl Crow and Snoop Dogg.
